About Us

Who We Are

We are a contemporary church rooted in an Ancient Tradition. We honor the faith practices handed down to us while connecting with the people and the needs of today. We are a community of Christian believers who are grounded in what is central: Christ and Scripture; faith and worship with substance; strong community; and serving others. Our worship is reverent, not stuffy; incorporating the beauty of ancient liturgy, the depth of old hymns, and the power of modern songwriting.

Get to Know Us

When you come to Church of the Resurrection, there are a few things you might notice that are important to us.

Our Faith...

Committed to Our Mission

We begin our service each week by reminding ourselves what we are about. Our mission is to know, worship, and serve Jesus — who is the Resurrection and the Life — and to joyfully share him with others.

We regularly remind ourselves of the vision we have for our church: Encouraging one another in our life in Christ; Empowering people to become fully formed followers of Christ; Extending the Good News of Christ to others.

Know Jesus

You and I were created to live in a relationship with God. Until we find that relationship there will always be something missing in our lives. As a result, we are often aware of a gap. Nothing will fill this gap except the relationship with God for which we were made.

Worship Jesus

Worship is much more than singing or speaking praise. We aim to worship the Lord with all our heart, all our mind, all our soul, and all our strength. We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30am!

Serve Jesus

As we are fed spiritually, we respond by feeding others physically. Each week following our service, we work together to prepare bag lunches to feed hungry families in the Fuquay-Varina area for the ‘It’s In the Bag’ Ministry.

Core to Who We Are

We value the faith, worship, and practices of Christian throughout the ages. We are shaped by these. Yet we are not bound by the past; we seek to make it alive in ways that speak to people today.

We stand with Christians today, through the ages, and and around the world who uphold one faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of all, who live under the authority of Scripture as the inspired Word of God, and whose service is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

We come together in weekly worship, regular fellowship and study, and on-going service. You will find genuine warmth and welcome, and a love that is not just talked about but shown in tangible ways.

Anglicans have long represented a middle way among extremes. In these polarizing times, we at CTR embody this by:
+ Focusing on the major beliefs of Christianity; that which has been believed everywhere, always and by all, without interference from politics and ideologies. Keeping Christ as the main thing.
+ Upholding the authority of Scripture while accepting insights from modern scholarship and science.
+ Bringing together the three major streams of Christian expression and faith: Scripture focused, the Sacred/Sacramental, Spirit-led.
+ Valuing the accountability that comes with being part of a wider church tradition and structure.

+ Seeking to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the life of our congregation.

We are connected to the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA), as well as to other Anglicans around the world. The ACNA unites some 140,000 Anglicans in over 1,000 congregations across the United States and Canada into a single Church. The ACNA is one of the fastest-growing churches in the U.S. It is an emerging Province in the global Anglican Communion. The Most Rev. Steve Wood is the Archbishop of the Church and is also Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Carolinas.
