Sunday Worship

Our worship connects directly to the worship of the earliest Christians. We know this from the Didache (written circa 100-150 A.D.) and other ancient documents.

Worship is much more than singing or speaking praise. Our worship is participatory and not a performance. We aim to worship the Lord with all our heart, all our mind, all our soul, and all our strength.

What to Expect

Our Sunday Worship Services can be characterized by four R's:

Revere

We worship God for who he is, we praise him for his might works, and we thank him for his faithfulness through music, both hymns and modern worship songs.

Reflect

We hear the reading of God's Word and reflect upon what he teaches us through the sermon. Messages are given by Sr. Pastor Bill Steinberg, CTR clergy and staff, and occasionally a guest speaker.

Receive

We reach the culmination of our service when we receive from Jesus himself in the remembrance of his Last Supper, as we partake in the celebration of Holy Communion.

Respond

As we are fed spiritually, we respond by feeding others physically. Each week following our service, we work together to prepare bag lunches to feed hungry families in the Fuquay-Varina area for the "It's in the Bag" Ministry.

You will see everything from “Sunday best” to jeans and t-shirts. Please be comfortable and worship with us!

We worship with a blended style of ancient hymns and modern worship songs.

Holy Communion is the climax of our Sunday worship, when we come to receive from the Lord. It is a physical demonstration of our relationship with Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We believe that the presence of Christ is given to us in the bread and wine as we receive them in faith; however, the nature of Christ’s presence remains a mystery. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion at Church of The Resurrection regardless of denomination.

For Kids

RezKidz Children's Church is available for mid-service, for children ages Pre-K through 6th grade. Nursery care is available every week for infants and toddlers 6 weeks to 4 years old.
