I certainly didn’t expect or need it to be so cold upon my return from (the relative warmth of?) Oregon… Single digit lows? In NC? I was worried the pipes in my home would be frozen, but upon my return I was relieved to find that all was well. I know some of you were not as fortunate…
It never entered my mind there might be a problem with the pipes at church! I got word the pipes at church were frozen late Saturday morning. Eric Olson suggested we buy some heat tape to quickly thaw everything out in time to have our service Sunday morning. It was a great idea, but it turns out we were not the only ones with that in mind. The guy at Home Depot laughed at me when I told him what I needed! He explained there had been a run on heat tape and every hardware store around was all out. It seems heat tape was a hot commodity during our cold spell…
I’m happy to report everything at church is thawed and functioning. God willing, I anticipate no problems with our Thursday night or Sunday activities.
